
👨🏻🎓 Empowering Rural Girl Students with Disabilities to Continue Their Education
Launched by the Department of Social Security and Women & Child Development, Government of Punjab, the Attendance Scholarship Scheme for Girl Students with Disabilities of Rural Areas aims to support and empower girls with disabilities from rural areas by providing them with financial incentives in the form of an Attendance Scholarship. The goal is to uplift their status, promote education, and reduce school dropouts, helping these girls become self-reliant.

The scholarship is directly credited to the bank account of the student, ensuring a smooth and transparent process.
✅ The applicant must be a rural girl student from Punjab.
✅ The student must have a disability of 40% or more (as per the RPwD Act 2016).
✅ The family income of the student’s guardian/parents should not exceed ₹5,000 per month.
✅ The student must have minimum attendance of 70% in their school/college.
✅ The scholarship is available for students from 1st standard onwards up to higher education.
The application process is offline, and the following steps should be followed:
The Schools in Punjab can apply for the scholarship on the behalf of the eligible candidates by following the below-mentioned steps –
Step 1: Click on the ‘Apply Now‘ button below and read the details.
Step 2: The schools are required to upload the online data of each eligible girl candidate on ePunjab portal.
Step 3: The school heads will approve the uploaded data as per the schedule and forward it to Concerned District Education Officer.
Step 4: The concerned District Education Officer will approve the data online after verifying conditions and forward it to State Head Office.
Step 5: After verification, the state will transfer the scholarship amount into the account of the concerned DEO/DDO as per the data uploaded.
Step 6: The concerned District Education Officer will verify the attendance percentage required for the award before disbursing the amount to the bank of beneficiaries.
Step 7: The concerned District Education Officer will send a UC certificate to the State Head office after disbursement.
