Launched by the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal in August 2014, the Gatidhara Scheme is a game-changer for the youth of the state who are looking to step into the transport sector. Whether you’re from an urban or rural area, this scheme provides financial support to eligible individuals to help them start their own transport business.

Scheme Benefits :

Subsidy on Vehicle Purchase: 30% subsidy on the ex-showroom price of a vehicle, up to ₹1,00,000.

Eligibility Criteria ✅:

Permanent Resident: Applicant must be a resident of West Bengal
Age: Between 25 to 45 years (Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC)
Family Income: Must be less than ₹25,000 per month
Employment Bank Enrollment: Applicants must be registered in the Employment Bank of the Labour Department.
Family Rule: Only one member per family is eligible to apply

Application Process :

Step 1: Ensure you are registered with the Employment Bank of the Labour Department.
- Visit the official website: Employment Bank Registration
- Select “New Enrolment Job Seeker” and fill in the necessary details.
Step 2: Get your application processed by your preferred vehicle dealer .
Step 3: Choose a financier for the loan required to purchase the vehicle.
Step 4: Register the vehicle within one month of receiving the offer letter for the permit and subsidy.
