The Internship Scheme by the Department of Forest and Wildlife, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) offers students an exciting opportunity for short-term exposure and hands-on experience in different sections of the Department. This is a great opportunity for students from various disciplines like Forestry, Wildlife, Law, Management, and more, to gain practical experience in environmental conservation and management.

🌟 Benefits:

  • Experience Certificate: At the end of your internship, you will receive a Certificate along with a grading based on your performance.
  • Logistics & Support: The Department will provide necessary support like transportation to the work site and study material printing.
  • Stipend: There is no stipend for the internship.

💡 Eligibility:

  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Educational Background: The internship is open to students pursuing degrees in:
    • Forestry, Ecology, Science, Technology, Engineering: Bachelor’s degree (2nd year and above), or higher secondary in the science stream.
    • Commerce, Economics, Management: BA, B.Sc, MA, M.Sc, MBA, or equivalent.
    • Law: 2nd and 3rd year of Bachelor’s Law Degree, or Integrated 5-year Law course.
  • Statement of Purpose (SoP): Preference is given to candidates with a clear and detailed Statement of Purpose.
  • Area of Interest: Interns must clearly indicate their area of interest and may apply for a maximum of 3 disciplines.

📋 Application Process:

The internship application process is completely online. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Step 1: Visit the official website Department of Forest and Wildlife Internship Portal.
  2. Step 2: Sign up if you’re a new user, or log in with your credentials.
  3. Step 3: Complete your profile, upload a recent photograph, and agree to the Terms & Conditions.
  4. Step 4: Submit your registration.
  5. Step 5: Once registered, log in, click on ‘Apply for Internship Scheme’, fill in the required details, and submit the application.
  6. Note: Apply 3 months in advance and submit the required “No Objection” letter from your institution at the time of joining.

📄 Documents Required:

  • Passport-size photograph
  • Proof of Age (e.g., Birth Certificate, Aadhaar)
  • Proof of Identity (e.g., Aadhaar, Voter ID, Passport)
  • Statement of Purpose (SoP)
  • Proof of Enrollment (e.g., College ID or Enrollment Letter)
  • Letter of Recommendation (from your institution)
  • Educational Qualification Documents
  • Additional Skill Set Documents (if applicable)
  • Proof of Residence

Important Notes:

  • Internship Duration: The internship lasts up to 90 days, with a possible extension of 1 month for significant work.
  • Report Submission: Interns are required to write a detailed report of their work and may be asked to present their work at the end of the internship.
  • Intellectual Property: The final product of the internship will be owned by the Department and cannot be used without approval.
