A candidate must be either a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, or certain East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institute, including Integrated Dual Degree (IDD). Professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost Accountant, Engineering, or Medical are also accepted.
Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience as an Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India. Clerical experience, and experience of less than 6 months in a single organisation, will not be counted (unless it forms part of current employment). Candidates must submit a valid Experience Certificate/Job Profile; if the profile does not substantially match Scale-I Officer responsibilities, the application may be rejected.
Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years of age as on 1 August 2026 (i.e., born not earlier than 2 August 1996 and not later than 1 August 2005).

The online exam consists of 120 objective-type questions carrying 120 marks, with a total duration of 120 minutes and sectional timing of 30 minutes per section. There is a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer.

Selected candidates will draw pay under the JMGS-I scale: βΉ48,480 β 2000(7) β 62,480 β 2340(2) β 67,160 β 2680(7) β 85,920, with the starting basic pay at βΉ48,480. In addition to basic pay, LBOs receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), Special Allowance, Transport Allowance, and other benefits as applicable.
Selected candidates are required to serve a probation period of 12 months. As per the recruitment terms, candidates who leave the Bank before completing 3 years of active service may be liable to pay a bond amount (reported as up to βΉ2 lakh).
