Eligibility Criteria (as on 01.08.2026 β Cut-Off Date)
Educational Qualification
Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution is mandatory. Preferred (not mandatory) certifications include IC 38 (Insurance Institute of India), NISM Series V-A, NISM Series XXI-A, and NISM Series XIII.
Experience
Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience as an Officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India, as on 01.08.2026. Experience of less than 6 months in any organisation will not count, except where it is part of current employment. Experience in the Clerical cadre is not considered. If a candidate’s job profile does not substantially match that of a Scale-I officer at BoB, the application will be summarily rejected.

Minimum 21 years, Maximum 30 years as on 01.08.2026 (for General category).

Who Is Eligible?
- Graduates of any discipline meeting the age criteria as on 01.08.2026.
- Candidates with at least 1 year of post-qualification officer experience in an RBI Second Schedule Scheduled Commercial Bank.
- Candidates proficient in the local language (reading, writing, speaking, understanding) of the State they apply for.
- Indian citizens, subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, Tibetan refugees (pre-1 Jan 1962), or persons of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.
Who Is Not Eligible?
- Candidates without at least 1 year of post-qualification officer-level experience in a Scheduled Commercial Bank.
- BoB employees who resigned from an officer-grade position or exited while on contract within the last 3 years (as on cut-off date).
- Current BoB employees in officer cadre or on contract basis.
- Candidates whose experience is only in the Clerical cadre.
- Candidates not proficient in the local language of the State applied for (unless exempted via 10th/12th marksheet proof).

One advance increment is granted for 1 year or more of prior experience as an Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank. Salary and allowances are governed by the industry-level bipartite settlement/Joint Note for bank officers, plus bank-specific allowances and perquisites.
Probation Period
Selected candidates serve a probation period of 12 months of active service from the date of joining.
Service Bond
Selected candidates must execute a Service Bond to serve a minimum of 3 years in the Bank, or pay an amount equivalent to 3 months’ Gross Salary (not exceeding βΉ2 Lakh) if they leave before completing 3 years of active service.
Job Profile & Posting
As Local Bank Officer (JMG/S-I), primary responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day banking operations β customer service, account management, cash operations, remittances.
